GUICAN

Güicán, is a Colombian municipality located in the province of Gutierrez in the department of Boyacá. It is located 255 km from Tunja, capital of the department. Guican was founded on February 26 of 1756.



Güicán is limited on the north by Chiscas, Cubará and Saravena department of Arauca, on the east by the municipality of Fortul in the department of Arauca (Fortul), on the south by the municipality of Tame. The main agricultural product of the municipality is the potato, other products are peas, corn and beans. It also develops the cattle on a smaller scale.

PANQUEBA

Is a Colombian municipality located in the province of  Gutierrez. Located at 236 km from the city of Tunja. His average temperature is 18º C. His altitude is 2258 meters over the sea.




His economy is based on the agriculture (the cultivation of potatoes, corn, beans, wheat and pea lesser degree, fruit and vegetables) and the potatoe crups (Boyacá with Antioquia and Nariño are the main producers of potatoes in the country, Potatoes are the main agricultural Panqueba and Gutiérrez entire province).

GUACAMAYAS

Guacamayas, is a colombian municipality located in the province of Gutierrez in the department of Boyacá. It is located 283 km from Tunja, Boyacà's capital. The altitude is 2195 meters over the sea. San Mateo was founded on 1763 the 21 of September.

The economy is the agriculture (grow potatoes, corn, beans and wheat, to a lesser extent beans, peas, snuff and vegetables that are seasonal crops and permanent crops such as coffee, sugar cane, custard apple, guava and blackberry.), livestock (cattle with such types of sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, horses.), forestry (Trees are introduced as eucalyptus, pine and willow), Mining (some deposits of coal, sand pits, gravel and stone, clay extraction is for brick  making.).

SAN MATEO

Is a colombian municipal located in Boyacà, is over de oriental range. His altitude is 2200 meters over the sea, and the average temperature is 18º C. San Mateo was founded on September 21 of 1753.

San Mateo has a extension of 132 km2. Limited on the east by the municipality of Guacamayas, Panqueba and Cocuy, with Boavita the west, to the north by Guacamayas and the department of Santander and south with the municipality of La Uvita. His economy is the agriculture (corn, snuff, sugar cane and wheat).

LA UVITA


Is a Colombian municipality located on the north of the Boyacà department. Is at has to San Mateo, at the south of the town of Chita, at the east with the town of Chita and at the west with the municipality of Boavita. La Uvita was fundaded by spanish on December 24 of 1758.

His economy is the agriculture (dairy products and meat export) the livestock and the mining of carbon. His altitude is 2454 meters over the sea. The average temperature is 16º C. His poblation is near to the 3000 people.

BOAVITA

Is a colombian municipal, located in the department of Boyacà. His altitude is 2114 meters over the sea. The average temperature is 16º C, is a cold climate. Boavita was fundaded by the Sir Hugarte on 1613.

File:Boavita iglesia 7.jpgThe principal economy are the crops (dates, sugar cane of various kinds, tomato, coffee, cotton, parsnips, sweet potatoes, corn, peas, beans,) the livestock (reared cattle, horses, mules, donkeys, sheep, goats and pigs.), the mining (coal mines, there are also deposits of limestone and sand) and the industry (Produced paintings, canvas shoes, straw hats).

SUSACÒN

Susacòn is a town located in Boyaca, is part of the "Altiplano Cundiboyacense". Susacòn has a cold climate with 18º C average. His altitude is 2480 meters over the sea and has 3550 habitants. Susacòn was fundaded  on November 21 of 1809.




His habitants are called "susaconenses". They live of the agriculture, fishing and craft.They grow vegetables, legumes, corn,potatoes, barley, sugar cane and fruit. There you will visit the Vereda de Siapora, cruz de Mayo, the Guantiva's moor and the Laguna del Tobal. There is very famous the Virgen del Carmen fair on August 18, 19 and 20.




BELÈN

Belèn is a municipality of Boyacà, is located at the north of Boyaca in the route Tunja-Duitama-Sogamoso. Belèn is over the oriental range, limit with the Santander department. His altitude is 2645 meters over the sea. 







The principal economic activity is the "alfareria" and consist on the fabrication of clay pots, generally the women make the pots. Also the horses, breeding trout, pigs, ships and chickens generate a source of income. His fundation was in September 13 of 1830 during the colony.




SANTA ROSA DE VITERBO

Santa Rosa de Viterbo is a municipality, located on Boyaca department, at 67 km from the Boyaca's capital ( Tunja ). Is located over the oriental range, his average temperature is 13º C.






On September is celebrated the fairs and festival of Santa Rosa de Viterbo, the principal activity is the cattle fair with the participation of the neighboring towns. On 1810 a meteorite fell down over the town, some months later the mayor divided it in two parts, one is located in the Nacional Museum in Bogota, and the other part was sold to foreing museums.


TUNJA

Tunja is the Boyaca`s departamental capital. Tunja was founded by Gonzalo Suarez Rendon, in August 6 of 1539. Tunja has a poblation of 177.974 people. The altitude is 2782 meters over the sea.





Tunja is a old city, has 473 years old. Tunja`s streets are cobbled, is a cold city with 14º C. The principal economic activities are the agriculture ( vegetables, potatoes, corn, onions, wheat, barley and sugarcane ), the animal husbandry ( cows and sheeps ). There are many churches and the people are very catholics.

HELLO EVERYBODY

HELLO EVERYBODY !! I am a student of the Gimnasio Los Andes School, and I am going to show the best photos with the description of the respective town, of the educational trip to the "Cocuy" in Boyaca, Colombia.
